Mike Frederick is a guitarist and composer presently based in Rochester, NY. He has been busy as a professional guitarist and session musician for over 15 years, though some of his present projects are: Mrs. Skannotto (guitar, composer), the Mighty High and Dry (lead guitar), and freelancing in the Upstate New York jazz scene. As a classical guitarist, he has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Syracuse Symphony (on mandolin), and as an accompanist and chamber musician with organizations such as the Skaneateles Festival.

Mike is an active teacher and pedagogue of guitar, improvisation, and transcription. In the past, he taught as an adjunct professor for Gonzaga University, the University of Rochester, the Eastman Community Music School, and Monroe Community College.

Mike is also called on regularly to do studio work at GFI Studios and at the Studios at Linden Oaks, where he records for a variety of commercial and advertising firms.

He holds a M.M. in Jazz and Contemporary Media from Eastman School of Music and a B.A. from Whitworth University, having studied Classical Guitar, Jazz Improvisation, and Music Education.
